Teachers and Parents

Electricity is dangerous. Fact.
Each year some children and young people are seriously hurt or
even killed in accidents involving electricity, many of which could
be avoided.
The teachers and parents area offers detailed guidance on
teaching electricity safety to KS2 and KS3 pupils, using resources
on the Power Up! website. Where possible/suitable, content is
provided for teaching electricity safety to KS1.
The resources in this site will help you to introduce
electricity safety messages and are a great way to prepare for a
visit from one of our Education Advisors. They can also be used to
reinforce the safety messages and science covered during a school
visit following the Education Advisor's presentation.
If your school is in the UK Power Networks area (find out more about the
area covered by UK Power Networks), you can arrange a visit from an
Educational Advisor.
If your school is outside the UK Power Networks area, the
resources provided on this website are an excellent framework for
teaching electricity and safety to the KS2 and KS3 age ranges and
you are fee to use them for this purpose.
Worksheets and activity sheets show
you how electricity safety messages can be incorporated into
lessons, reinforced by a range of curriculum linked activities to
use with the pupils.
Assessment and quiz materials are available to help you
consolidate and check their understanding.
