Teachers and Parents

Electricity is dangerous. Fact.

Each year some children and young people are seriously hurt or even killed in accidents involving electricity, many of which could be avoided.

The teachers and parents area offers detailed guidance on teaching electricity safety to KS2 and KS3 pupils, using resources on the Power Up! website. Where possible/suitable, content is provided for teaching electricity safety to KS1.

Whether your school is inside or outside the UK Power Networks area, the resources provided on this website are an excellent framework for teaching electricity and safety to the KS2 and KS3 age ranges and you are free to use them for this purpose.

Worksheets and activity sheets show you how electricity safety messages can be incorporated into lessons, reinforced by a range of curriculum linked activities to use with the pupils.

Assessment and quiz materials are available to help you consolidate and check their understanding.
